The Authors Among Us
B'nai Havurah is fortunate to have several published authors in its midst. Join three of our authors, Stan Gudder, Bobbie Towbin, and Scott Bergstrom for an afternoon of sharing and discovery as they read a short excerpt from their work, discuss their writing process, and join in discussion with the audience. The program will be moderated by Sandy Goldman.
Stan Gudder (left), Professor Emeritus at DU, renowned mathematician and author of many technical books and articles about the origin and structure of the universe, is the author of the novel, Speculations about God and the Cosmos.
After 21 years as an ADL professional, writing speeches for others to give and op-ed
pieces for others to sign, Bobbie Towbin began to write stories about the incidents and the
people in her life who shaped what she was and who she was to become. Following
retirement from ADL in 2002, she spent the next ten years writing stories that were
eventually to become her memoir, “Reflections on a Life Well Lived, ”self-published in
2015. In her humorous voice, Bobbie provides the reader with a picture of growing up
Jewish in Denver, being a young adult of the 50’s, marriage and parenthood.
Scott Bergstrom is a 2018 Edgar Award finalist and the author of The Cruelty and The Greed. Translated into 20 languages, his novels focus on international settings and characters navigating a world filled with espionage and intrigue. Scott lives in Colorado with his spouse and two daughters.
