Shabbat Schedule at a Glance
Erev Shabbat (Friday Evening)
On the fourth Friday evening of each month (except in the summer), join us for Kabbalat Shabbat Experience–ritual, food, heartfelt singing, camaraderie, and shared community for all ages. We start at 6:30 pm with a lively, joyous participatory concert (with themes such as Kirtan, Beatles, Sephardi or Yiddish, to name just a few), followed by a potluck dinner at 7:30 pm.
During the summer months, Shabbat in the 'Hood takes over, with potluck dinners, Shabbat rituals and lively singalongs, hosted each month by a B'nai Havurah family in their backyard.
Shabbat Morning
B'nai Havurah holds Shabbat services every Saturday morning at 9:30 am in our space (or, currently, remotely at 10 am).
Our Music Shabbat Service with gorgeous instrumental accompaniment generally happens on the first Saturday morning of each month. Here you'll find a thoughtful balance of prayer, singing, readings, Torah leining and discussion.
Other weeks of the month, you might encounter one of a variety of approaches--a Torah study minyan, an intergenerational "Shabbat B'Yachad" or an alternative ReconLab experience. There is always an opportunity to say the Mourner's Kaddish and a Mishebeirach Prayer for Healing.
If you would like to sponsor a Saturday morning Kiddush in memory of a loved one or to celebrate a joyous occasion such as an anniversary or birthday, please contact Executive Director Becky Epstein at exec@bnaihavurah.org or 303-388-4441.
