REGISTRATION FORM FOR MY MITZVAH 2022-2023
                                                   
Dear My Mitzvah Participants:

As I write this, we are in the midst of the season of B'nai Mitzvah celebrations of the members of our 2021-22 (inaugural) class, and I am bursting with pride for their growth and achievements. As our team plans the 2022-23 program, using all that we've learned this past year, I am looking forward to working with you and your child/children, and I know it's going to be a wonderful year.

First Class: Sunday, September 18

We will meet the first and third Sundays of each month, beginning September 18, from 4:15-5:45 pm. Unless otherwise indicated, we will meet at B'nai Havurah, 6445 E. Ohio Ave. (near S. Monaco Pkwy and Leetsdale), Denver, CO 80224.

My Mitzvah Tuition for September 2022 - May 2023

  • Tuition for one student for 2022/23 academic year: $2000
  • Sibling discount:  -$150
  • Combined service discount: -$150
  • Classes and family gatherings only (no individual meetings; we don't prepare or run your service): $500

Payment arrangements are flexible. You may pay all at once, monthly, quarterly, or bi-monthly.  Unless other arrangements are made, tuition is due in full prior to your student's B'nai Mitzvah. We accept payments by check, e-check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

If the full cost of tuition presents a hardship for you, please let us know. We may be able to offer a discount.

Included in Tuition:
The program is built around the Shira Classes and Mitzvah Labs, plus there are a number of additional programs that will enrich your child's and family's experience.

  • Membership to B'nai Havurah (if you choose to take advantage of it)
  • Shira Class (songs and prayers) on the first Sunday of each month, 4:15 - 5:45 pm.
  • Mitzvah Lab (Torah, responsibility, leadership, Jewish identity) on the third Sunday of each month, 4:15 - 5:45 pm (Dates of Shira Class and Mitzvah Lab are subject to change around holidays.)
  • Culminating B'nai Mitzvah celebration co-led by your child(ren) and either Rabbi Katie or our Mitzvah Mavens, Hal and Risa.
  • Individual Meetings with Educators and Lay Clergy
    • 2-3 in-person meetings with student for study and planning of tikkun olam (service) project and D’var Torah speech or alternate presentation.
    • 2 in-person meetings with family to plan and individualize the service/program and siddur/booklet.
    • Additional check-ins as needed, including consulting for mitzvah project.
    • Dress rehearsal .
  • Shabbat B'Yachad Six times per year - we'll join together (b'yachad) for a joyful, song-filled Shabbat service that will appeal to our community of all ages and backgrounds, with My Mitzvah students leading parts of the service.
  • My Mitzvah Family Havurah ("Bunch of Friends") Informal family gatherings around Shabbat, havdalah, or holidays, 3-4 times per year, dates and locations TBA
  • Year of Joy Activities (optional) Four times per year - Year of Joy gives us a chance to celebrate within a larger community through monthly programs marking a holiday, life cycle event, or tikkun olam (service) project. Friends and family are welcome.
  • Facility and Administrative Support
    • At least one consultation with our Executive Director or Office Manager about facility and administrative needs.
    • Coordination with vendors (photographer, caterer, etc).
    • Use of tables, linen, chairs, service ware, and more.
    • To better meet your needs, please complete our Facility and Administrative needs worksheet at least two months prior to your B'nai Mitzvah.

Choosing a B'nai Mitzvah Date

Please submit your first, second, and third choices for date and time. Please submit your preferences by October 1, 2022, so we can match students and dates by the middle of October. If you are not thinking of having a ceremony of any kind, let's chat. (Risa Aqua risaaqua25@gmail.com303-883-4270)

Additional Fees

Tutoring

Depending on individual needs and interests, each student's family will arrange for a tutor at their expense. Fees may vary, but most are in the neighborhood of $35 per half-hour lesson.  Tutoring is required if your student will be learning to read Hebrew, and/or will be reading or chanting Torah and/or Haftarah. PARENTAL RELEASES

Please review the following electronic releases and add your name with your acceptance.
By entering my name above, I hereby give permission to B’nai Havurah or its agent to hospitalize and/or secure proper treatment for my child(ren) as named in this release form in the event of an emergency.
By entering my name above, I authorize my child(ren) as named above to leave B’nai Havurah for field trips with adequate supervision and advanced notice.
By entering my name above, I grant permission to B’nai Havurah Denver Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation (“B’nai Havurah”) and its agents and employees the unrestricted right to reproduce the photographs and video images and sound recordings of my child(ren) for marketing purposes in print, social media, presentations, and on the B’nai Havurah website. Student names will not be used without a separate, signed release.
