First Class: Sunday, September 19

We will meet the first and third Sundays of each month, starting with Sept. 19 (yes, a week from Sunday) from 4:15-5:45 pm. The first class will be in my backyard for Covid reasons: 78 W Cedar Ave, Denver, CO 80223. (Near I-25, Broadway and Alameda).

Supplies

Computer or other device on which to access Google Classroom, other Google docs and materials, and the internet in general

Three-ring binder

Pencil and pen

Two Types of Classes

These arrangements are subject to change, but the current plan is this:

Shira Classes (focused on practicing songs and prayers) meet ON ZOOM the first Sunday of every month.

Mitzvah Lab Classes (focused on everything else we'll be learning) meet IN PERSON the third Sunday of every month.

For the time being, our in-person classes will be held outside at my house. When we need to move inside, pending current covid conditions, we will plan to be distanced and masked in the sanctuary at B'nai Havurah. We expect that every student will be vaccinated as soon as they are eligible.

Google Classroom

Please send me a good email on which to register your child for Google Classroom.

Tutoring

Additional Tutoring:

Depending on individual needs and interests, each student's family will arrange for a tutor for them at their expense. Fees may vary, but most are probably in the neighborhood of $35 per  half-hour lesson. A list of recommended tutors will soon be available. It is possible for your child to have a B'nai Mitzvah without individual tutoring, but we encourage it. Tutoring is required if your student will be learning to read Hebrew, and/or will be reading or chanting Torah and/or Haftarah.

Choosing a B'nai Mitzvah Date

If you don't already have a date on the calendar (just a couple of you do), please submit your first, second and third choices for date and time. Please submit your choices by Oct. 1, so that we can match students and dates by the middle of October. If you are not thinking of having a ceremony of any kind, let's chat.
