Theatre Ariel Production: Women, Wine and Talmud

Sunday, May 15, 2022 14 Iyar 5782

5:00 PM - 6:45 PMVirtual Event on Zoom Webinar

Women, Wine, and Talmud is a world premiere theatrical production commissioned by Theatre Ariel, conceived by Deborah Baer Mozes, and written by Hadar Galron.

Rachel, Mad Yalta, and Bruriah are three wise women, daughters, wives, and sages whose stories appear in the Talmud. Each of them challenged the “expected” and each of their stories will challenge you. This immersive, interactive theatre work will bring these women’s stories to life and will bring you into that action as a “commentator”.

This live play will be performed in Philadelphia and we will attend and participate virtually! Stay after the performance for a 15 minute talkback, a unique opportunity to gain insight from Deborah Baer Mozes and the cast.

Hadar Galron, an internationally acclaimed Israeli playwright, was born in London (1970) to a Jewish orthodox Jewish family and immigrated to Israel with her family at 13. While pursuing a B.A. in Theatre at Tel Aviv University, she began writing and performing professionally. She first became known for her comedy work that dared to laugh at the orthodox world she belonged to. Galron currently performs, writes and directs for theatre, tv and cinema. Theatre Ariel commissioned her to write Women, Wine and Talmud.
