Sustainability is an approach to decision-making that ensures the health and well-being of present and future generations and loves the children of all species with whom we share the planet. The Sustainable Living Interest Group formed in October to explore the choices we can make in our own lives to meet this goal. We have merged with The Green Team, so we will also be studying ways that B'nai Havurah can operate in a more environmentally friendly way. And we want to consider how we might advocate for changes in the community as a whole.

We have formed teams to plan congregational events on the following topics: household sustainability, food choices, stuff, transportation options, water use, and landscaping. The Household Sustainability group started their planning process in November.

The Food Choices group is meeting on December 10 at 10 am at B'nai East to begin their planning effort and you are welcome to join them if you are interested.  If you would like to join one of the other planning teams, contact Sharon Tinianow (sharontinianow@gmail.com) to get on the mailing list.
