S'lichot
Saturday, August 28, 2021 • 20 Elul 5781
8:00 PM - 9:15 PMVirtual via ZoomAs we prepare for the spiritual journey of the High Holy Days, we come together for S’lichot -- an evening event focusing on the themes of forgiveness, reflection, and returning.
At 8:00 pm, Pat Madsen will lead a short discussion about forgiveness.
When is an apology best as a public act? A commentary on a verse from Proverbs states that when a person has upset a friend, that person should gather many neighbors to seek the friend’s forgiveness. This suggests that at least sometimes, seeking forgiveness needs to be a public act. With Pat Madsen's expert guidance, we'll explore the 'When?' 'How?' and 'Why?' of forgiveness, with some examples and role playing opportunities.
At 8:30 pm Hal Aqua and fellow musicians Carla Sciaky and Miriam Rosenblum will lead us in meditative songs and chants that reflect the themes of S’lichot, preparing us for the soul work of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

This enlightening evening will engage our minds and our hearts. ALL are welcome to join us!
