In our Torah portion Chayei Sarah, we learn a lot about how Abraham comes to acquire the Cave of the Machpelah, in Hebron, as a burial place forhis late wife Sarah. Clearly this piece of land will be an anchor for future generations of Jews. In the Torah, "ha'aretz" (the land) is a major theme (to say the least). 

 

To which piece of land, if any, do each of us feel that close relationship that makes us call it home?

Recon Lab was born at B'nai Havurah around 2020, as a place to (in the words of our founder Ed Towbin, z"l) "connect our energies" through sometimes-provocative, reconstructed, human-centered musical prayer and discussion.  

As with all Shabbat morning services at B’nai Havurah, there will be a chance to recite Healing Prayer and Kaddish in community.
