Presentation by Dr. Alison Schofield, Dead Sea Scrolls Scholar
Dr. Schofield is Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible and Judaic studies at Denver University, specializing in the Dead Sea Scrolls. She received a doctorate in the area of Judaism in Antiquity and her Masters Degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Near Eastern Studies: Hebrew Bible and Northwest Semitic languages. Dr. Schofield’s additional fields of interest include the religious and cultural influences of ancient Israel, Egypt and Babylonia, and her primary research languages are Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Akkadian, Ugaritic, and Ethiopic.
Dr. Schofield is the author of
From Qumran to the Yahad: A New Paradigm of Textual Development for The Community Rule (EJ Brill, 2008,) and she has published numerous articles and collected essays on early Judaism and the Bible.
