Saturday, February 15, 2020 • 20 Sh'vat 5780
9:30 AM - 12:00 PMB'nai HavurahGuest Darshan: Rabbi Bernard Gerson: "The Legacy of Yitro: Learning to Let Go".
Rabbi Gerson will first share a bit about his professional journey over the past two years. Then he'll explore the Biblical narrative in which Yitro, Moses' father-in-law, offers the gifts of feedback and counsel to Moses in the midst of trying times for the soon-to-be lawgiver. Through this lens we'll learn the parsha's message of wellness and resilience for everyone’s benefit.
Rabbi Bernard Gerson is a Consumer Service Associate at Anthem / Blue Cross-Blue Shield. He retired in 2018 from a 30-year tenure as a Congregational Rabbi and Judaic Studies Teacher, having served most recently at Congregation Rodef Shalom and Denver Jewish Day School, respectively. His personal and professional interests are defined by a passion for social justice and support of mutual understanding within diverse communities. In addition, he has undertaken a new project that bridges his first and second careers entitled “The Spirit of Wellness,” in which he is interacting with others in the community to make the faith-based case for personal resilience.
