The shabbat of MLK weekend this year includes the first torah portion of the book of Exodus which couldn't be juicier -- baby Moses and the midwives, the burning bush and the call to action, and the first confrontation with Pharaoh. Our service and Rabbi Katie's teaching will explore themes of liberation from Torah to our day as we prepare to remember MLK's legacy and encourage one another in our contemporary struggles for freedom and justice for all.
As always, services will include a prayer for healing and an opportunity to say Kaddish. We invite you to join us for a light potluck lunch following services; please register here to bring a vegetarian dish and/or volunteer to help set up and clean up.
Childcare is available if requested by Wednesday, January 15; please register for that below, as well.
We look forward to seeing you at this very special Shabbat service!
