Wednesday, April 19, 2017 • 23 Nisan 5777 - 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM - B'nai Havurah
Religious Services at B'nai Havurah are
musical, varied and engaging. While it might seem at times like "anything goes", we really are operating within an established framework, called the matbeah. This two-part series will teach you more about the who, what, where, when and why of our Saturday morning service.
April 19, Class #1 we'll learn about why the service is divided up into different parts, and how each part functions. We'll cover Birchot haShachar (the morning blessings), P'sukei d'Zimra (verses of praise), Sh'ma uBirchoteha (the Sh'ma and her before and after blessings), and the shabbat Amidah (series of prayers we say together while standing).
April 26 Class #2 we'll cover the Torah service, the Mishebeirach (prayer for healing) and the concluding service, (Aleynu prayer & Kaddish - memorial prayer for the dead).
No cost for members and friends, though we request your registration, below.
