Thursday, May 29, 2025 2 Sivan 5785

1:00 PM - 3:30 PMB'nai East (6445 E. Ohio Ave.)

Please join our Chachamim ("Wise Ones") group for a film showing and discussion with Dick Reinish.  Because the film, "The Song of Names," is almost 2 hours long we plan to begin at 1 pm sharp and meet for 2 ½ hours.

"The Song of Names" is a 2019 film based on the novel by Norman Lebrecht. In the 1940s, a British youngster named Martin is struggling to learn piano. His family "adopts" Dovidl, a Polish violin prodigy whose father brought him to England to further his violin training and escape from the Holocaust.  Dovidl helps Martin improve his piano playing, and the two become the best of friends. However, when Dovidl is scheduled to make his first public performance on the international stage, he disappears that very night. Forty years later, his friend finally finds a major clue to the disappearance.

Dick Reinish is a retired Chicago lawyer who, along with his wife Barbara, moved to Denver in 2012.  He has led discussions for DU’s OLLI program on foreign films and documentary films for 11 years and has also led a dozen or more films for B’nai. He is a big sports fan and an avid and outspoken anti-Trumper.
