Letter to Community about our virtual High Holy Days.

Be with us face to face for the High Holy Days

Letter to Community, July 20, 2020

There are many moments in Jewish tradition that pulls us toward being face to face, Panim el Panim, with the other.

Such encounters are elevated as sacred connections between people and between human beings and God. Jewish texts and commentators suggest that a face gazing into a face is perhaps the most potent and transformational posture two individuals can experience. Philosopher Martin Buber calls this moment “revelation,” and he teaches that each person leaves the experience with something “more” in them.

Dear Members and Friends of B’nai Havurah,

All of us value our unique brand of High Holy Day services and enjoy seeing one another Panim el Panim (face to face), and this year we will still be able to connect in this way, albeit remotely.

The High Holy Day committee, along with our COVID-19 Advisory group, and staff have made the decision to offer virtual 5781 High Holy Days services. To view our schedule through Yom Kippur, please click here.

We are looking forward to offering a user-friendly remote platform via Zoom. Our goal, as always, is to provide accessible, meaningful, and connected services that touch you in a profoundly personal and positive way with familiar liturgy, readings, music, and a few surprises.

This year’s theme of Panim el Panim was carefully selected. It’s vitally important to see each other’s faces and know that we are all connected through the B’nai Havurah community. This year, with all its challenges, it is essential that we stay connected.

Come by B’nai Havurah to pick up your machzorim (prayerbooks), a High Holy Day gift, and our member directory during our JOYFUL drive-by celebration just before the High Holy Days. If you’re not able to get to us, we’ll come to you! Stay tuned for more details.

If you would benefit from tech support or can help others with accessing Zoom on a smart phone, computer, laptop, notepad, etc., please let us know at 303-388-4441 or click here.

Our High Holy Day team is very excited to connect with you Panim el Panim.

May you find something “more” in our 5781 High Holy Days services and programs, and may they be transformational!

Sincerely,
