Included in Tuition:
The program is built around the Shira Classes and Mitzvah Labs, plus there are a number of additional programs that will enrich your child's and family's experience.
  • Shira Class (focused on practicing songs and prayers) on the first Sunday of each month, 4:15 - 5:45 pm
  • Mitzvah Lab (mitzvot, Torah, and leadership) on the third Sunday of each month, 4:15 - 5:45 pm (Dates of Shira Class and Mitzvah Lab are subject to change around holidays.)
  • My Mitzvah Family Havurah ("Bunch of Friends") Informal, fun family gatherings, mostly around Shabbat and Havdalah, 6-8 times per year, dates and locations TBA.
  • Joy of Learning Activities - One Sunday per month. Year of Joy gives us a chance to celebrate within a larger community through monthly programs marking a holiday, life cycle event, or tikkun olam (service) project. Friends and family are welcome.
  • Shabbat B'Yachad - Once per month. We'll join together (b'yachad) for a unique Shabbat experience. Hal Aqua will lead joyful, song-filled and engaging Shabbat services that will appeal to our community of all ages and backgrounds; My Mitzvah students will have the opportunity to practice leading parts of the service.
  • Individual Meetings with Educators and Lay Clergy
    • 2-3 in-person meetings with student for study and planning of tikkun olam (service) project and D’var Torah speech or alternate presentation.
    • 2 in-person meetings with family to plan and individualize the service/program and siddur/booklet.
    • Additional check-ins as needed
Additional Tutoring Requirement:
Depending on individual needs and interests, each student's family will arrange for a tutor for them at their expense. Fees may vary, but most are probably in the neighborhood of $35 per  half-hour lesson. A list of recommended tutors will soon be available. It is possible for your child to have a B'nai Mitzvah without individual tutoring, but we encourage it. Tutoring is required if your student will be learning to read Hebrew, and/or will be reading or chanting Torah and/or Haftarah.

All financial arrangements are kept confidential.
