Tu B'Shevat Seder
Sunday, February 1, 2026 • 14 Sh'vat 5786
11:00 AM - 1:00 PMB'nai East
Please join us for a joyful, song-filled seder celebrating Tu B’Shevat, often called the New Year of Trees.
This happy, but often ignored, Jewish holiday is an opportunity to join in a lovely, meaningful, and unique service using a Haggadah created by Havurah Dorot. Members of Havurah Dorot will lead us, sharing their beautiful ceremony. We will sing and share in the beauty of the service in order to learn about and celebrate this special holiday.
You’ll learn:
- How different colors of wine (or grape juice) symbolize the four seasons.
- How eating the different kinds of tree-grown nuts and fruits symbolize earth and nature, showing us what is in our own hearts.
- How the four elements, earth, water, air, and fire, combine with the seasons to teach us deeper spiritual truths.
We'll begin with a 30 minute seder- during which childcare will be provided (children will have fun planting parsley seeds to be used for Passover). Then we will join together with the children for a delicious brunch and a special song the whole family can participate in.
Maximum number of partipicants is 40, including children. Register by January 28th if you'd like to attend.
Optional - make an $18 contribution to help pay for the food and drinks
