All of our Sukkot in the Hood dinners are potluck style, with the hosts providing the main course.
Here are the details for Rabbi Evette's and Shari's hosted Sukkot in the Hood Open house offered on Sunday, September 23, 4:30 - 8:00 pm, with dinner served at 5:30 pm.
- Come one come all - adults and children are invited to this Israeli-themed open house. Start time is 4:30 pm, and doors close at 8:00 pm.!
- People will be accommodated indoors in the event of rain.
- Home is accessible for people using canes and wheelchairs.
- This is an alcohol-free home.
- Rabbi and Shari own one dog who will be kept upstairs in a bedroom.
Special notes:
The Sukkah is surrounded by various bird feeders and is really lovely. Kid-friendly arts & crafts, Sukkot stories from the Rabbi, "surprise activities", including learning fun facts about your Rabbi & Rebbitzen.
What's for Dinner?
- The main course will be Chicken Shipudim (Israeli Shish kabob).
- The meal has options for those who are vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian.
What do guests bring?
- Please only bring vegetarian/dairy-free dishes (eggs are fine) to feed 6 - 8 people.
- Suggestions: fruit, pita bread, Israeli/Mediterranean salads/
sides/rice/couscous, to match the Israeli-themed dinner. No need to bring hummus since Rabbi Evette will make her world-famous hummus for all to enjoy!

- Rabbi and Shari live in Aurora in the Sableridge neighborhood 2 blocks East of 225 between Mississippi. (We will send you the address a day or two prior to the dinner. Members of B'nai may refer to their directories or log in to our website and access our online directory.
