Shabbat Service

Saturday, July 13, 2024 7 Tammuz 5784

10:00 AM - 1:00 PMIn person at B'nai East and on Zoom

Give yourself the gift of rest, music, and connection and join us for joyous services with Rabbi Katie and Ev Evnen.   Rabbi Katie will be teaching about how the themes of our Torah portion connect to our lives today.

This week we encounter Parashat Chukat which includes the story of Moses losing his temper and thereby his chance to enter the Promised Land.  It's a relatable episode.  How many times can each of us count when anger has sabotaged our hopes?  In our moment of inflamed rhetoric and high stakes, rage has become a dangerous and common political weapon.  But can anger ever be constructive?  How can we more skillfully handle our anger when it arises?  Explore these questions and more as we discuss this very juicy torah portion during services.

As always, services will include prayers for healing and remembering our loved ones.  For those attending in person, we will end with a light pot luck lunch and time to connect.

(Childcare is provided upon request. If you are in need of childcare, please email Hannah at youthandfamily@bnaihavurah.org by July 10th.)

Register below if you can bring food for our kiddush lunch and/or help with set up/clean up.
