Kabbalat Shabbat Experience - Sephardi Shabbat with Potluck Dinner

Friday, October 26, 2018 17 Cheshvan 5779

6:30 PM - 8:30 PMB'nai Havurah

Welcome Shabbat with Rabbi Evette and B'nai Havurah's Kabbalat Shabbat Experience, a music-filled, all-ages celebration on (usually) the fourth Friday night of each month.

At 6:30 pm, Hal Aqua and fellow musicians lead a musical journey through the themes of the Friday night service, followed at 7:30 by candle lighting, Kiddush, and Motzi. We end the evening with an optional potluck or catered Shabbat Dinner.

October 26: Sephardi Shabbat

Haunting melodies from the Sephardic (Judeo-Spanish) and Mizrahi (Middle Eastern) tradition guide us through the Friday night service.

Following services join us for a Sephardi and Mizrahi inspired potluck Shabbat dinner! If you're inclined, test your culinary skills on something different and exotic. (At our Sephardi Shabbat last May, we had a full house for services and dinner as well -- not a bourekas was left!)

Not sure what to bring and need some ideas and inspiration? If so, Tori Avey has a website and a blog and among other recipes, has a collection of Sephardi / Mediterranean / Middle Eastern recipes that look delicious and not too difficult.  https://toriavey.com/toris-kitchen/healthy-sephardic-mediterranean-recipes/
