MLK Shabbat Service

Saturday, January 17, 2026 28 Tevet 5786

10:00 AM - 1:00 PMB'nai East (6445 E. Ohio Ave.) and on Zoom

Parashat: Va'era
Torah Chanter:  Michele Goldschmidt

Please join us for our annual MLK Shabbat service, honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and marking his commitment to a vision for a "beloved community" based on equality, justice, and compassion.

Our Torah service leaders will be Lauren Lipski and Rachel Whitman, and Michele Goldschmidt will chant Exodus 6:10-13 from Parshat Va'era.

Rabbi Katie will provide a drash that inspires us to rise to the challenges of this moment, and we'll join our voices together in rousing songs of freedom, justice and resistance.

Childcare is available -- please email Hannah at youthandfamily@bnaihavurah.org by Wednesday, January 14 at noon in addition to registering below.

Register below to bring a vegetarian dish for our potluck lunch and/or help with set up/clean up.

On Monday, we encourage you to attend the MLK Marade, beginning at 10 am in City Park at the MLK statue. More information can be found on the MLK Marade website- https://drmartinlkingjrchc.org/index.php/marade-information
