Here's what's relevant in 2017:
The Holocaust, provides one of the most profound historical events for examining basic moral issues and teaching critical lessons about human behavior and the destructive forces of hatred and bigotry even today!
In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, B'nai Havurah is screening the film, Surviving Skokie, a documentary about Jack Adler, a local Holocaust survivor, and chronicles the anti-Semitism that he and other survivors confronted in Skokie, Il in the 1970s when a group of Neo-Nazis attempted to march through their town.
The film documents confronts Jack's history as well as issues of free speech and tolerance.
Please join us for this very engaging film and discussion facilitated by Jeff Haber and Joan Wallis, both children of Holocaust survivors.
We will begin the evening with a community Havdalah Service, followed by viewing of the film, Surviving Skokie, and finally a panel discussion. No cost; please register below.
