BOARD APPROVES REQUEST TO CARRY THE B’NAI HAVURAH BANNER
AT THE JANUARY 21 WOMEN’S MARCH IN DENVER

After hearing comments from members, the Board approved the request to carry the B’nai Havurah banner at the Denver Women’s March on Saturday, January 21.  This request was reviewed by the Tikkun Olam Committee, Executive Committee and Board using the criteria in our new process for taking positions on social justice issues.

The March and Rally are scheduled from approximately 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, starting at the north end of Civic Center Park.  There will be a Shabbat Service starting at 8:45 am at First Baptist Church for those who wish to partake.  The B’nai Havurah delegation will also convene there and leave the premises at approximately 9:15 am to join the March.  You can learn more about the March at  http://www.marchoncolorado.org/

Special Shabbat Service Preceding the March.  All are welcome to join.

The service will be held in Miller Hall, located on the lower level of First Baptist Church.  Enter through the double doors on Grant Street. Go straight down the hall and make a LEFT down the stairs.

Join Rabbis Birdie Becker, Sara Gilbert, and Amanda Schwartz as well as fellow Women's March marchers for a short, sweet, and spirited Shabbat service.  We will recite prayers for love, listening, healing, and more (all in 30 minutes!) and then will head over to the march together.   Print-outs for the abbreviated service with Hebrew, English and transliteration will be provided.   If you would like a more complete service, you are invited to bring your own siddur.

Location: First Baptist Church, 1373 Grant Street near the Capitol (Southwest corner of Grant and 14th)  First Baptist has a parking lot on its south side that’s likely to fill quickly.  Transit and carpooling are encouraged.

Schedule:

8:45 am - Shabbat Service begins
