Parenting with your Heart

Sunday, November 16, 2014 23 Cheshvan 5775

9:45 AM - 11:45 AM

Our children are so important to us, yet sometimes we struggle to parent in ways we truly feel good about.

Join with other parents to discover how to use our words to create a quality of connection with our children and ourselves, so that everyone matters.
Participants will:
•    Understand needs & developmental stage needs behind your children’s behavior
•    Transform power struggles and conflicts into opportunities for building connection and trust
•    Contribute to a more peaceful world by raising compassionate children
•    Learn the transformative power of empathy to change everyday challenges
•    Connect to Jewish values, i.e. nurturing loving kindness in our children

This class is suitable for parents, grandparents, teachers and anyone who cares about children.

Facilitator: Susan Kaplan, B’nai Havurah member, holds Master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Administration. Her extensive experience includes director of a University-based volunteer crisis center, community development via VISTA, adoption service counseling, and Family Services Counselor at Warren Village & Decatur Place. She is currently an independent trainer & facilitator, and works with Colorado Courage and Rocky Mountain Center for Compassionate Communication.

Registration required below.  No cost for members, $5 for non-members. Given level of participation and interest, there is a possibility that this class will be scheduled for additional sessions.
