Blues and Gospel Shabbat with Hal Aqua and the Lost Tribe and Potluck Dinner

Friday, February 23, 2018 • 8 Adar 5778

6:30 PM - 9:00 PMB'nai Havurah

Join Rabbi Evette and Hal Aqua and The Lost Tribe as we honor two musical genres from the African American experience: blues and gospel.

The heartfelt emotional honesty of the blues and the spiritual depth of gospel music both resonate with Jewish tradition and liturgy, and we'll explore the Friday night service with rousing singalongs from these genres. Imagine "We Are Bringing in Shabbos" to the tune of "Gimme That Old Time Religion" or L'Cha Dodi to a 12-bar blues groove and you'll get the idea.

The last time we did Blues & Gospel Shabbat, the shul was rocking -- don't miss this lively event!

POTLUCK SHABBAT DINNER after services at 7:30 pm.
